Born out of firsthand experience with inefficiencies and delays in the trades, pkup was created to solve a common challenge in the construction industry: reliable, last-minute delivery. Through collaborative round-table discussions, our founding partners recognized a clear need for an on-demand service that could keep projects moving without costly interruptions.
While construction professionals were the initial focus, it quickly became clear that pkup could serve a much broader community. From DIY homeowners needing materials delivered, to transporting bulky marketplace purchases, to dropping off bags of soil for the weekend gardener, pkup is your dependable “friend with a pickup.”
Our delivery fleet is powered primarily through a crowdsourced network of drivers with pickup trucks, offering flexibility from single daily deliveries to full-time schedules. To ensure every request is fulfilled, we also complement this network with our own corporate vehicles.
Meet the executive team
Steve Porchetta, Founder and CEO
A lifelong entrepreneur, Steve Porchetta has built his career at the intersection of construction, operations, and innovative problem-solving. He began his professional journey by gaining valuable experience over 14 years in operations management with one of the largest road building companies in the Lower Mainland. This foundation gave him deep insight into large-scale construction logistics, efficiency, and the operational challenges faced on active job sites. Early ventures saw him successfully build and sell a dump trucking business.
Following this, Steve became founder and president of a petroleum distribution business, Proquip On-Site Diesel Refuelling, successfully growing and positioning the company for acquisition. The business was ultimately sold to a billion-dollar corporation, marking a major milestone in his entrepreneurial path. It was during this involvement in and around the construction and development projects that he identified a critical gap in the industry: trades were losing valuable time leaving job sites to source materials, causing delays and inefficiencies. In response, he founded pkup, a specialized delivery company designed specifically to support construction sites and ensuring trades can stay focused on their work while essential supplies are delivered directly to them.
Today, he continues to pursue opportunities in a variety of industries. He is a devoted family man and proud father of three children, who motivate him daily to build not only successful companies, but a meaningful legacy.
Jake Kennedy, Director of Operations
Jake Kennedy brings over 28 years of management experience and an entrepreneurial approach to building and leading successful operations. His career includes 10 years with McDonald’s Canada, where he built a strong foundation in leadership, operations, and customer-focused service, followed by 18 years managing Proquip On-Site Diesel Refuelling, overseeing complex fleet, logistics, and operational environments.
With deep knowledge of the construction industry and logistics, Jake has consistently driven business growth by developing effective sales strategies, optimizing fleet and logistics operations, and strengthening administrative and technology infrastructures. He is known for turning strategy into execution, improving efficiency, and scaling organizations for long-term, sustainable success.
Born and raised in North Vancouver, Jake proudly raises his family there. When not at work, he enjoys skiing, baseball, traveling, camping, and spending time outdoors, as well as coaching kids’ sports and staying actively involved in his community.
Montana Moore, Director of Sales & Marketing
Montana Moore is the Director of Sales and Marketing at pkup, where she oversees the company’s growth, brand development, and market expansion. As a partner in the business, she is deeply committed to building efficient systems, driving sustainable growth, and delivering a consistently positive experience for both clients and drivers. Her role blends strategic vision with hands-on execution, ensuring pkup continues to scale with clarity, purpose, and strong operational foundations.
Montana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of British Columbia, graduating on the Dean’s List. Her academic background informs a leadership approach rooted in effective communication, motivation, team development, and organizational performance. She is particularly focused on cultivating strong internal culture while implementing processes that support long-term scalability and business resilience.
With over a decade of experience as a professional dancer and educator, Montana brings a disciplined, results-driven mindset to her leadership. Her career, spanning stage performance, cruise ships, and film & television, required adaptability, precision, and the ability to perform under pressure. Alongside this, she has taught and mentored adults and children of all ages, refining her skills in leadership, problem-solving, collaboration, and conflict resolution while working closely with students, parents, and fellow professionals.
Years of self-promotion, brand building, and relationship management in the entertainment industry have directly shaped Montana’s strengths in sales and marketing. Known for successfully balancing multiple careers with determination and focus, she brings a dynamic, resilient, and forward-thinking leadership style to pkup, positioning the company as a reliable, modern solution in the on-demand delivery space.
